How to prepare for your first specialist appointment

A little preparation can help your specialist understand your health history and use the appointment time effectively.

Before your appointment, review the instructions sent by the First Sayve Health care team and the assigned partner center. Confirm the location, arrival time, contact details, and whether you need to avoid food, bring a sample, or follow any other clinical instruction.

Gather the records requested for your visit. These may include referral notes, laboratory results, imaging reports, a list of medicines, previous diagnoses, and details of treatments you have already tried. Bring only accurate records that belong to you.

Write down your main symptoms, when they began, what makes them better or worse, and the questions you want to ask. A short, organized list can help you remember important details during the consultation.

Bring your MIN and any identification requested by the partner center. You may also choose to attend with a trusted family member or support person if the center permits it and you would like help listening or taking notes.

If you cannot attend, contact the care team as early as possible. Missed appointments can delay assessment, and a new date will depend on the specialist's availability.
